*+:。.。 Isolation Day 4: Bai Jia Chongqing Spicy Hot Instant Noodles 。.。:+*

To be honest, isolation is already grating on me – I didn’t realise how much I’d miss having a kitchen, easy access to fresh water, and a kettle to prepare food with. I would totally have had this with pickled veg, or an egg or something…

These were the first noodles I prepared in my new hotpot, and it was pretty easy to use. I don’t think it affected the meal in the slightest.

Within the packet was a nest of medium thickness, flat vermicelli noodles. There was a seasoning packet of undisclosed white powder and a chilli oil sachet. Sadly there were no dried vegetables or anything. To prepare, simply add 600ml hot water and all of the packets, cover, and wait 6 minutes.

Sorry for the unappetizing photos, by the way. I was in a hurry to eat.

The noodles The noodles

This wasn’t the best – it was more of a soup type than a fried one. The noodles didn’t go squidgy, which is great. I didn’t find it too spicy, as the white broth toned it down a lot. It did make my lips numb though! I’ve had mala at a restaurant and it didn’t do that, so this is a plus. I think it would have benefitted from added condiments, perhaps Lao Gan Ma and definitely vegetables. Honestly, I think the only reason I didn’t love this was because the Shi Zu Ren Energy noodles were so good! Perhaps if I had them a bit further apart, my experience would be less tainted. As you can see, I am not a pro (or even hobbyist) food reviewer. Oops.
